National group of medical clinics is seeking an experienced medical Insurance Precertification Clerk to join our growing team. The qualified candidate for this position should have experience with navigating insurance web-sites, insurance benefit verification and prior authorization process, and data entry.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

  • Handle insurance benefit verification process (phone calls and online)
  • Write medical necessity using established forms and procedures
  • Handle prior-authorization process for office procedures
  • Handle insurance calls
  • Ensure/analyze an efficient flow of work utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) software to keep track of task and relevant patient information

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or two years of post-secondary education;
  • Previous experience with medical insurances, e.g., benefit verification, prior authorization
  • Familiarity with medical terminology through education or relevant work experience
  • Previous experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software
  • Strong computers skills and excellent typing skills; 30wpm
  • Immaculate attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Billing and Coding or other related certification as big plus
